Add 3D AI Studio to Any MCP Client

How to add 3D AI Studio to any MCP client with remote server support: the server URL, transport, OAuth sign-in, and a bridge for clients that only run local servers.

Updated October 2026

3D AI Studio works with any MCP client that supports remote MCP servers with sign in. If your client is not covered by a dedicated guide, use the details on this page.

New to 3D AI Studio? See the 3D model generation MCP for what it can do and example results.

Connection details

SettingValue
Server URLhttps://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp
Suggested server name3daistudio
TransportRemote MCP server over Streamable HTTP (often labeled "http", "remote" or "streamable-http")
AuthenticationOAuth, through the standard MCP authorization flow. Your client registers itself automatically and opens a browser sign in
API key, headers, environment variablesNone. Do not add any

The sign in shows a 3D AI Studio page where you sign in, choose which credits to use (Personal or a team) and click Authorize.

Use the URL exactly as shown. These do not work: https://www.3daistudio.com, https://mcp.3daistudio.com without /mcp, and older guides that end in /sse.

Not sure where your client puts MCP servers? Ask your assistant directly. Most assistants know how their own app adds remote MCP servers, and coding agents can often do the setup for you:

How do I add a remote MCP server in this app? I want to connect 3D AI Studio:
https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, OAuth sign in, no API key).
Use https://docs.3daistudio.com/mcp-setup.md for the details, and set it up for me if you can.

Common configuration shapes

Every client names its settings a little differently. These are the most common shapes. Check your client's documentation for the exact field names.

url style (Cursor and many others):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "3daistudio": {
      "url": "https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

type + url style (VS Code and others):

{
  "servers": {
    "3daistudio": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Some clients call the field serverUrl or httpUrl instead of url. The value is always the same.

Clients that only support local servers

Some clients can only start local MCP servers (a command on your computer) and cannot connect to a remote URL. For those, you can use the community bridge mcp-remote, which runs locally and forwards to the remote server, including the browser sign in:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "3daistudio": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

This needs Node.js installed. mcp-remote is a third party tool and is not maintained by 3D AI Studio. Prefer your client's built in remote server support whenever it has one.

What your client needs to support

  • Streamable HTTP remote servers.
  • MCP authorization (OAuth) with a browser sign in.
  • Tools. That is all you need to generate.
  • Optional: clients that support interactive app cards (like Claude) show finished models in a 3D viewer and offer an inline upload card. Other clients show links instead, which works just as well.

Check that it worked

Ask your client to call the get_credit_balance tool, or simply ask: "What's my 3D AI Studio credit balance?" If you get a number back, you are connected.

If your client cannot connect, see Troubleshooting. If you believe your client should work but does not, contact support@3daistudio.com and tell us the client name and version.
