Set Up With Your Agent

Let your coding agent connect 3D AI Studio for you: paste one brief into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code Copilot or OpenCode, or point it at the setup file.

Updated October 2026

Coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code Copilot and OpenCode can add the 3D AI Studio connector to their own configuration. You only have to do one thing yourself: sign in and click Authorize when the browser opens.

This is often the most reliable way to connect. AI apps change their MCP commands and settings frequently, sometimes within days, while the agent itself knows how its current version works. The instructions below give it everything else it needs.

There are two ways to hand the job to your agent. Use whichever is easier.

Option 1: Point your agent at the setup file

Paste this into your agent:

Set up the 3D AI Studio MCP server by following https://docs.3daistudio.com/mcp-setup.md

The file at docs.3daistudio.com/mcp-setup.md is plain Markdown written for AI agents. It contains the exact configuration for each client, how to start the sign in, how to verify the connection, and what to do if something goes wrong. Your agent needs web access to read it.

Option 2: Paste the brief

If your agent cannot open links, copy this whole block into the chat instead:

Please connect the 3D AI Studio MCP server for me.

Server name: 3daistudio
URL: https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp
Transport: remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP
Authentication: OAuth sign in in my browser. No API key, no headers, no env vars.

1. Add the server to the client you are running in:
   - Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http --scope user 3daistudio https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp
   - Codex: codex mcp add 3daistudio --url https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp
   - Cursor: add "3daistudio": { "url": "https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp" } under "mcpServers" in ~/.cursor/mcp.json
   - VS Code Copilot: add "3daistudio": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp" } under "servers" in .vscode/mcp.json
   - OpenCode: add "3daistudio": { "type": "remote", "url": "https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp", "enabled": true } under "mcp" in opencode.json
Merge into existing config files. Do not remove other servers.
2. Start the sign in (Claude Code: I run /mcp and choose Authenticate; Codex: codex mcp login 3daistudio; OpenCode: opencode mcp auth 3daistudio). I will sign in and click Authorize in the browser myself.
3. Never write tokens or secrets into config files.
4. When I confirm I am signed in, call get_credit_balance to verify the connection and tell me the result.

What your agent will do

  1. Add the server to its configuration, using the server name 3daistudio and the URL https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp.
  2. Start the sign in. A 3D AI Studio page opens in your browser.
  3. Wait for you. You sign in, review the permissions, choose Personal or team credits, and click Authorize.
  4. Verify by asking 3D AI Studio for your credit balance.

After that, you can ask for 3D models and images directly in the same agent session (some clients need a restart or a reload of their MCP servers first).

Only you can authorize the connection. No agent can complete the sign in for you, and none should ever ask for your 3D AI Studio password or put tokens into a config file. If an agent asks for either, stop and check what it is doing.

Chat assistants (Claude, ChatGPT)

Chat assistants cannot change their own settings, so you add the connector yourself. It takes about a minute:

  • Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp. Full guide
  • ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors → Create → paste https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp. Full guide

For AI tools and crawlers

  • /mcp-setup.md - agent setup instructions (this page in plain Markdown, with full client configs)
  • /llms.txt - index of the whole documentation for language models
  • /llms-full.txt - the documentation in a single Markdown file
  • Any page as Markdown: add .md to its address, for example /mcp/quick-start.md. Every page also has an Ask AI menu (top right) with Copy Markdown and View as Markdown
